Payton (Bird)

Year 6
Extraordinary, awesome, super,
great. These are some words that describe Riverdale School and the years I’ve been here. My best year has been Year Six because of the things I have done. These include being in Dance Explorers, Rippa Rugby and Te Puawai. I’ve earn’t heaps of snidges and learnt how to spend them too. I did some Year Six jobs like road patrol, library and the dishes. The thing I loved were the two camps, Palm Grove Christian Camp and CastlePoint. I hope everyone in Year Five has a good Year Six. BYE!!!!!!!!!!

Burger Fresh Recount

"Payton go and fill up the jug"! Zoe yelled. I was in the middle of pouring a drink when the jug ran out of jug. I raced back to the kitchen to fill up the jug and heard Zoe telling me to hurry up because the other jugs were getting dangerously low. I was feeling nervous, even sick, thinking we were going to run out of juice. It was painfully loud in the hall. Kids were munching on there burger. I ran back holding the cold jug in my hands. I could smell the fresh burgers fill the air. I could see it was going to be a very bust day.

Burger Fresh Reflection

How do you think Burger Fresh went?
I think it went really well. it was busy too and everybody liked it. I think we needed to work on putting the ingredients on properly. But after all it was FUN!!
What was my job during Burger Fresh?
My job was juice. I had to pour the juice in the cups and sometimes I had to run back to fill up the jugs. It was sometimes busy and sometimes not.
Looking back in our inquiry, make a list of all the things you have learn't?
Proberly it takes a long time to prepare all the food.
You've got to count the money carefully.
All your hard work pays off.
How to make a paper spinning top.
What were the challanges when organising Burger Fresh?
Getting everyones drink.
Getting all the food ready.
Counting the money.
Making sure everyone got there burger.

Snow Poem!

I look out the window
to see the snow
jumping up and down
ready to go
I get my gloves
and my hat too
all this snow
has covered my shoe
I feel cold about the freezing ice
inside my glove my fingers are num
I run inside to have a hot chocolate
YUM!YUM!YUM!

Haunted House Story!

"AHHH" As the door slammed shut Mackenzie and I shouted. We were playing passes and then Mackenzie who had blonde hair and blue glasses through the netball through the hauted house window. But I have short brown hair and love to dance. We were in the haunted house getting the netball. We ran to the brown door just to see if it was open but, no we were out of luck. It was locked. I was searching around for the ball but all I could see was dusty old cobwebs in the corners. Suddenly I saw something move by the ragged table. I ran over to see what it was. I couldn't believe it. It was Paige from school. She had short brown hair and likes singing. "What are you doing here Paige"? I asked. "Well um I was following you to see why you were in here" she replied. " We are in here to get our netball back" Mackenzie whispered. As we were tip toeing down the creepy hall I opened a door. There it was my netball. We walked into the room and a white see threw ghoast jumped out of nowhere. "AHHH" we all sreamed. We slammed the door and locked it. "That was close" we all whispered. "How are we going to get the netball"? I asked. "I know" shouted Mackenzie. " What then" Paige and I said at the same time. " You two distract him and I will get the netball" Mackenzie said. "Ok unlock the door Paige" I said. So she did. Paige and me distracted the ghoast and Mackenzie got the netball. We all ran out when she got it."Now how are we going to get out of this gross house. Suddenly I saw something shiney. I ran over to it, It was the key to the door."Guys come over here I've got the key""YAY" Paige and Mackenzie shouted. I unloked the door. Freedom at last!!

How to fly a kite!!

How to fly a kite!

W.A.L.T:Use short and long sentences.
-Using a variety of conjunctions.

A kite can be any shape. They have string attached to the bottom of it while the end of it is attached around the handle.

The string is to control it.

A kite will need wind to fly because it is heavier than air. You will need to unroll the string as long as you want. Then run while your kite is dragging behind you and the wind should pick it up. Take these tips and show a friend.

A moment in time

As I jumped frantically up to the starting line I felt nervous. I didn't want to do it but I know I had to. "On your marks get set go". Boom! I was off like a rocket raping my arms around the pols. Keeping my eye straight ahead like a hawk. I could feel the mud squishing between my toes. My arms pumping as hard as they could. I could see the finish line in the distance. Sprinting, sprinting. I'm finished throwing my hands up wildly in the air.

Camp Reflection

Best Activity:

My best activity was Rocky Shore because it was different than just walking on the beach. It was a challenge to lift up rocks and pick up crabs. I was exited seeing creatures. I learnt not to walk on rocks but pick them up to see whats under them.

Best game you played:

The best game I played was the big dig because you had to dig and find mentos. It was frustrating and exiting at the same time. My experience was actually finding the mentos and I learnt to persist and not give up.

Hardest Challenge:

My hardest challenge was going down the sand dunes because you had to run and dive. I was nervous just looking down. The biggest challenge was actually going down it. You had to have all of your body on the cardboard.

Biggest risk:

My biggest risk was walking up Castle Rock because it was windy and steep. My experience was walking up it. I learnt to just keep going and persisting.

Funniest/best moment:

My best moment was when Mr McCallum got thrown in the beach. It was funny. I thought that he was going to get us in the water but no he didn't.
